What is Cryo Pen?
CryoPen is an advanced cryo-therapy innovation that is a safe, fast and effective, solution for removal of skin imperfections. The CryoPen emits nitrous oxide under high pressure. This allows the Dermal Therapist to work with millimetre precision. The nitrous oxide destroys the tissue by freezing the inter-cellular fluid, forming ice shards and crystals that rupture the membrane, thereby destroying the cell. That means there will be no collateral damage to healthy tissue. It`s so incredibly accurate and practical.The device is held as close as possible to the skin imperfection before treatment, which lasts up to 1-30 seconds depending on the size and depth. It requires no anaesthesia, has less scarring and minimal post-op care compared with other techniques of skin lesion removal.

The treatment is well tolerated with a sensation similar to stinging nettle on the skin. After treatment, there might be a little residual stinging for a few minutes.What are the potential risks?
CryoPen is relatively low risk. Some side effects that may occur post-treatment include:- Pigmentary changes (hypo-pigmentation and hyper-pigmentation) can occur with the colour normally returning after a couple of months.
- Nerve damage (usually rare) can occur. Studies show that normal sensitivity returns after a couple months.
- Hair follicle damage and permanent alopecia (especially when treating an area with coarse terminal hair).
What are the side effects?
Post-treatment the area may be slightly itchy for about ten minutes. Occasionally a blister might form and persist for a few hours.What are the pre and post care instructions?
An antibacterial gel will be applied after treatment as the area must be kept clean. Keep the area covered for 48 hours. If a scab forms, it is important that you do not pick or scratch it.How many treatments are needed?
Most small common warts and skin tags will respond to a single treatment. However, large ones can be very difficult to remove and may take more than a single treatment.What skincare is recommended?
